HUBUNGAN PENGGUNAAN GADGET DENGAN KUALITAS TIDUR PADA REMAJA DAN MAHASISWA
Introduction: The era of globalization in the field of telecommunications is characterized by the rapid growth of communication media. Developments in the field of communication such as the use of gadgets. Gadgets are used to communicate, play games and find information, but also as a need for work to study needs anywhere. Excessive use leads to poor health problems such as dry eyes, neck pain, obesity which also occurs due to unregulated eating time and sleep disorders in college students as a consequence of excessive gadget use. The impact of its use is lack of sleep which decreases concentration, when making decisions and doing daily activities. Every individual has a difference when resting, while sleeping and awake is a condition that must be lived. The time to sleep and rest is regulated by circadian rhythms. Circadian rhythms are influenced by several factors such as light from the lights, sunlight, blue light from the gadget screen, season and temperature. Method: The research used is a type of literature study research. The literature was screened using Google Scholar throughout the years 2015-2020 and obtained 10 literature. Results: From 10 selected literatures, there were nine journals stating that the duration of gadget usage could affect one's sleep quality and there was one journal stating that there was no significant relationship between duration of use between different ages, ethnicities, accommodations or tertiary institutions and duration of use of the device electronics per day. Then, there are four journals which state that female sex uses gadgets more often than men because women are more likely to be active on social media. Conclusion: The duration and time of using the gadget can affect the quality of one's sleep, due to the excessive use of gadget features such as chatting, browsing, sharing, playing online games, or completing schoolwork.
